Introduction

We want to first say “Thank You” for taking the time to read our profile. This is by far the most important letter we have ever written. As you read through it, we hope to give you a glimpse into our lives and our hearts. We won’t be able to cover everything, so please feel free to call us directly or ask the adoption agency to contact us to arrange a meeting and we will answer any and all of your questions. We are completely willing to have an open adoption or whatever you are most comfortable with. We want to thank you for the courage, strength, and most notably, the love you have shown in considering to make an adoption plan for your child.

About Our Home

We are Mike and Jacob and have been together for over six years. Our commitment to each other is unsurpassed. We value the strong foundation we have built over the years and are able to bring a positive and reassuring nature to our children. We enjoy the daily experiences and memories with our children that allow us to create a loving and supportive family. We enjoy volunteering within our community; some of them include the MS Society, March of Dimes, and Operation Good Cheer. We love to vacation from white sandy beaches to snow capped mountains. Our dream is to someday visit all seven continents.

In August of 2008 we were blessed with the birth and adoption of Conrad. Watching him grow and learn has been the most rewarding experience of our lives. His curiosity rivals only his boundless energy as he begins to discover the world. He recently started walking, which has opened up all new possibilities for him. His laugh and smile are contagious! We would love to be able to have the opportunity for Conrad to have a brother or sister. Creating a loving family has been our dream from the beginning.

We own a four bedroom home in Madison Heights, Michigan. Over the past few years we have been remodeling it to make it more our own. We have a fenced back yard with a fire pit (where we love to sit around and roast marshmallows trying to make the perfect S’mores). Our neighborhood is full of life and laughter, with children of all ages. We adore where we live, but someday our dream is to buy some land where we can raise horses, have a dog, and build our dream home.

We love living in Michigan because of the change of seasons. In the summer we love going to the park to play with Conrad, to the beach for the day to hang out with our friends, and taking long walks through our neighborhood pulling Conrad in his wagon. In the fall, we go to the apple orchard and pick apples, raspberries, and we let Conrad choose a pumpkin that we carve for Halloween. When winter rolls around, we get ready for Christmas which is a holiday that is very special to all of us. It’s a time when our families and friends get together to celebrate love and laughter. We have a weakness for decorating the house with all kinds of Christmas cheer. We both love to ski, whenever we get the chance. We are eagerly waiting for Conrad to be old enough so that we can teach him and we can go as a family. Finally when spring comes, we work in the yard planting flowers and playing with Conrad.

About Jacob

Jacob was born and raised in Michigan. Jacob stays at home to be a full-time dad. Jacob is an avid reader. He can be found throughout the house with a book in his hands reading for hours on end. He also loves the movies, everything except scary ones that is. Jacob has one of those laughs that no matter your mood, once you hear it, you can’t help but smile. Children adore Jacob. His imagination and energy make them feel right at home.

Most of Jacob’s immediate family lives about an hour away. With the exception of his parents anwho recently moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement. We travel to Kentucky every other year to attend Jacob’s extended family reunion and that is always a good time filled with horse back riding, good food, and great family.

About Mike

Mike was raised in Montana and moved to Michigan in 1998 because of his job. His parents still live there in a small town called Livingston. We travel there several times each year to go snowmobiling, camping, hiking, four wheeling, horseback riding, and when time permits, a nap in the hammock. Mike’s grandparents live on a farm in North Dakota, which has been in his family for generations. We always make sure we have our appetites with us when we go there as his grandmother has a passion for cooking. Mike’s sister, Kelli, lives in Kansas. Even though his family is spread out all over, we still make every opportunity to visit quite regularly.

Mike has a job he loves in sales, selling phone services to large companies. When not at work, he loves to work in the yard and his creativity knows no bounds. He plays softball on a variety of different teams throughout the summer. Mike volunteers for an array of organizations. He has one of the biggest hearts people have ever known. His passion for helping people is surpassed only by his loyalty and support of his friends and family. Whenever there is a problem, everyone turns to Mike for advice and help.
